Imagine if there were billions of dollars available to help provide food, child care, medical access and other basic needs for millions of low income working families. Fantasy? Imagine that most of those billions go unclaimed every year, leaving those families in the same state of poverty. Ridiculous? Absolutely – but that is exactly what has happened across the United States for generations. Single Stop USA's goal is to help end that cycle.
Single Stop USA's mission is to reduce the impact of poverty on individuals and families in the United States by increasing their access to government benefits (almost $65 billion of which go unclaimed annually), tax credits, and critical support services like legal counseling, financial planning and other critical services – all in convenient "one-stop" locations. We distribute our services through community-based organizations (CBOs) and community colleges and provide screening tools and data management systems, management, training and support. Single Stop sites are currently in operation in New York City and are already reaching over 93,000 families annually. We recently opened new locations in New Jersey, New Mexico and California.
We are in the process of replicating our community college initiative nationwide and forming innovative government partnerships to develop groundbreaking models of service delivery. Joining Single Stop USA’s team will allow you to come in on the ground floor of this exciting effort to expand our services across the country and have a real widespread impact on poverty in America. We need talented individuals who can contribute 1000% and ensure that our ambitious plan is a success!
